"Caring More Award Recipient Contributes Prize to Oklahoma Brain Tumor Foundation"

Award recognizes a social worker who goes above and beyond for patients and the community with donation to charity of recipient's choice.

OKlahoma University Medical Center social worker Jana Lynn Smith has been chosen as the recipient of the Crossroads Hospice "Caring More" award.  Social workes provide daily support to their patients, but few receive special recognition for their tireless efforts. In a move to honor social workers and their advocacy for those in need, Crossroads Hospice launched the "Caring More" award for a social workes who goes above and beyond for his/her patients and the community. At a breakfast held in her honor, Jana received a $500 check to present to the nonprofit of her choice, the Oklahoma Brain Tumor Foundation.  Jana was inspired to become a social worker to follow in her father's footsteps.  Sthe contributed her donation to the OKBTF in his honor, as he passed away from a brain tumor five years ago.
